Are LVN's required to have supervision?
According to the Texas Board of Nursing, reference BON 217.11(2), an RN, MD, DO, PA, or Advanced Practice Nurse must supervise an LVN's clinical practice.


What is the process for our company to obtain an RN to be on call for our consumers?

1. Contact ON_CALL_RN.
2. Sign contractual agreement and HIPAA agreement.
3. Provide ON_CALL_RN with a list of your client names, diagnosis, allergies, medical diagnosis, and current medications. The ON_CALL_RN will also need the names and phone numbers of the client’s physicians and their guardian or the individual who would need to be notified in case of an Emergency.
4. ON_CALL_RN will need a copy of your facilities Emergency and Restraint Protocols.
5. An information letter will need to be sent to your staff and foster care providers so they will know when to contact ON_CALL_RN.

How does ON_CALL_RN document these billable calls?

1. All calls are documented on a standard service delivery form provided by ON_CALL_RN or your company may provide your own service delivery record. The completed service record document will be faxed to your nurse’s office for review (this serves as report for your nurse). The original paperwork will be mailed to your business office for reimbursement processing.
2. Yes, ON_CALL_RN will need a service provider number for your billing purposes.
